The beginning of Ember & Folk Studio…

Life moves quickly. Between busy schedules, endless distractions and the demands of everyday living, it’s easy to forget the beauty of slowing down.

Ember & Folk Studio was created when I was forced to slow down during treatment of and recovery from breast cancer for the third time!! Doctor’s orders were to forget about work, focus on myself and my family and find a hobby and perfect it. And find a hobby I did!! I became obsessed with soap making reels and videos, finally making my first batch just from the oils I had in my pantry.

I had used handmade soaps bought from other makers for years simply to cut down on the amount of plastic bottles we threw away every year but it wasn’t until I started making my own soap that I understood the significance of the switch from bottled synthetic detergents to the naturally glycerine rich and skin loving ingredients of well formulated handmade cold process soap.

Ember & Folk Studio has begun with handmade cold process soaps and bath and body essentials, created with patience, creativity and care. And as we grow, we’ll introduce candles, artful homewares and thoughtful gifts that reflect our appreciation for craftsmanship, creativity and considered living.

At Ember & Folk Studio we believe that the things we surround ourselves with, and the little rituals we make time for, can help us reconnect with what matters.
